HCL Technologoes to recruit 2000 people

HCL Technologies plans to hire 2000 software engineers in the next quarter. 30% of the new entrants will be freshers while the rest of the 70% will be experienced professionals.

D K Srivatsava, global, head (HR), HCL Technologies, said, “We are hiring 2,000 people domestically who will support our delivery functions. Some of these new entrants will be freshers while most will be laterals and senior delivery support staff.”

“When the whole world spoke about ‘customer first’, our motto was and still is ‘employee first and customer second’. We have been promoting collaborative working, inclusiveness, sharing of tools and technologies through ‘Directions’ over the years. This has helped our employees develop lateral thinking and leadership qualities,’’ Srivatsava said.

HCL, citing the slowdown in the demand for the IT services, intends to go slow on campus hiring in which it was pacing fast till last year. Till last year the firm had taken around 15000 freshers and professionals through campus-hiring.

The company has no plans to alter the compensation package of the freshers and that variable component of the salary will solely be performance based.
