Yes Ishita Its essential to choose career of your interest. There is no fixed time as this is the time you have to choose your career. I think after 10th everyone has to choose their road (Arts, Science, Engineering etc., ....)

I think you should choose what you are passionate about. Don’t feel pressured to enter a major you are struggling in and dislike – what is the point? Many of my friends entered programs only to switch majors so they would avoid failing. If you’re hardworking and creative, I think you will prosper no matter what. What do you think?

Life is definitely a rollercoaster – you may enter a career and wind up having a totally different one. Did you know Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones entered the famous London School of Economics? Of course this is an extreme example, but most people I know don’t enter careers they actually studied. I find most skills are transferable, and if you like a job enough you’ll learn the skills necessary to do the job.

I would suggest trying the different jobs out there and seeing what you like. Don’t get discouraged if school is boring, if certain classmates are doing better than you or if you’re struggling in some subjects.
